We had a wonderful week and I am so happy. I'm not ready to leave this area. I still have so much more to do and Sister Dela Cruz and I both love this area and we aren't ready to say goodbye. Our family that we love since we found them on the street, are all preparing to be baptized. It's been a huge tender mercy. We have 9 IBD's (Investigators with Baptismal Dates) right now and this family counts as 7 of those. The Valenzuela family are all excited and ready to be baptized, well once we finish the lessons and they are interviewed that is. But the other night we took The Restoration video for our lesson because we didn't feel they had prayed about Joseph Smith as a prophet. The Spirit was strong and nanay (mom) and tatay (dad) both had goosebumps and we know they felt the Spirit. Our branch mission leader testified of the Restoration and we committed them to pray for an answer. I am excited to go back and hear their experiences. Our investigators right now are really magaling and so prepared. We have been so blessed.
My testimony of prayer has been strengthened this week. There is power in prayer and I would encourage everyone to study "Pray with Faith" in Chapter 4 of Preach my Gospel. It's completely changed how I pray.
The work is amazing and there are really hard days, but then there are other days that are so happy. I still try to see the good in every day and be thankful for the trials that are shaping me. When people hide from us, we just smile and say "It's a common reaction" and we find another house. Heavenly Father is preparing His children and even though we are rejected, we have still been called as missionaries (especially members) to share the Gospel no matter what the outcome. Heavenly Father's expectations are the same. Trust in Him.
